Roofing Sales at D2DCon 10.
Weather sets the roofing calendar, not the sales manager. Hail arrives where it likes, insurers decide much of what gets paid, and the jobs are getting bigger even in quieter years. Roofing XP is where the people who sell roofs meet before storm season starts.
Roofing sells where the storm went.
Most door-to-door trades can plan a season months ahead. Storm roofing cannot. Demand appears wherever hail or wind has just passed, which is why roofing teams travel, why territory changes week to week, and why the trade’s nickname for its reps is storm chasers.
The second difference is the insurer. On storm work, a large part of the decision about what is replaced and what is paid sits with the homeowner’s insurance company, so the sale runs through a claim as well as through the homeowner. Retail replacement, where the homeowner pays directly, works on different rules entirely.
And the economics have shifted. Insurance data for 2025 shows fewer roof claims but much more expensive ones, as older roofs, costlier materials and labour push the average job up. Fewer, bigger jobs reward the companies that can find and qualify them.
Fewer claims, much bigger tickets.

One job can make a month.
A five-figure job.
At an average of more than $17,000, a replacement roof is among the largest single jobs in home services. The size of each job is why roofing sales organisations care so much about every qualified inspection.
The insurer is in the deal.
Roofing accounts for around 30% of all line items in property claim estimates, according to Verisk. On storm work, the claim process shapes the timeline and much of the scope, which makes it unlike any other sale on this floor.
Inspection, claim, then contract.
Storm sales often run through an inspection and an insurance adjustment before the work is final. Retail jobs move faster but compete hard on price, which is why many roofing companies run both models.
A share of the job.
Roofing pay plans are commonly built on a percentage of the job or its profit, with large swings between busy storm seasons and quiet ones. Structures vary from company to company.

Storm teams, retail closers and their owners.
Roofing XP is for roofing sales reps and managers on both the storm-restoration and retail sides, the canvassers and inspectors who start the job, and the owners of roofing companies deciding how to grow in 2027.
The timing suits the trade. January falls before spring hail season in much of the country, when teams are being planned and markets chosen, and before the big product show of the roofing year, the International Roofing Expo in Las Vegas on February 16–18, 2027.

What roofing reps, sales managers and company owners usually ask before they commit to January.
Both. Storm restoration and retail replacement are run very differently, and the roofing room covers each, along with companies that run both.
Verisk’s data shows roof claims fell by about a fifth in 2025 while the average replacement rose 33%. Fewer, larger jobs change how teams pick markets and qualify homes.
No. Product shows like the International Roofing Expo focus on materials and installation. Roofing XP is about selling roofs: the people who find, inspect and win the jobs.
Roofing XP covers the market and how roofing sales organisations work. Step-by-step training lives with D2D University’s roofing sales certification.
Yes. January is a planning month for most roofing companies, so it is a practical time to bring the team before spring storm season. For groups of five or more, talk to partnerships about logistics.
